MESSIAH
THE GIFT I

4-5 years in the making, Messiah is my first art print. From the preliminary sketch done in 1999-2000 (link to sketch) to the Artist proofs and limited additions, Messiah has evolved and matured as I have matured as an artist and Christian.

Messiah represents many things. It represents the struggles of Jesus’ life and the free gift of freedom from sin that he gave to us. His endurance and intenseness, his patience and pain took many years to capture with graphite on paper.
Entitled Messiah, the Gift I, Messiah is the first in a series of prints illustrating the life and free gift that Jesus gave to us.

His eyes seem to look at you, the viewer, or maybe through you, seeing the need for the freedom pains he had to endure for our sake. Silently pleading, beseeching acceptance of the gift only He came give.

He must be accepted, he must be believed in, he must be loved, he must be first, or else our lives are lost, these are the thought going through his mind as he is looking at us 2000 years ago today as graphite on paper.
This Messiah piece is meant to be pondered upon thought about discussed, reviewed, received and considered….then accepted just as he was.
